Over the course of several solo instrumental releases and a seemingly never-ending barrage of collaborative albums, Billy has been innovating a new cutting-edge style merging the classic sounds and aesthetics of smooth jazz, funk, and 00’s RnB with the fast-paced drums and thumping 808s that form the bedrock of the modern Detroit / Flint sound. He photographs the culture and music scene around the midwest, and directs and edits music videos. He maintains his love for performing live too, he DJs (vinyl and digital) around Detroit and had a residency, ‘Smooth Water Sound,’ @ Hi Note in the East Village of New York City. Billy aims to be an authentic mainstay in an emerging scene of producers, open format DJs and tastemakers.

Billy broke out into the music scene as one half of the music production duo Stacks Culture with Rob DePollo crafting futuristic beats for a diverse range of artists in the Detroit scene & bringing eclectic selections to dance floors, clubs, bars and underground house parties across the midwest. They’ve been artist residents at Assemble Sound and have helped set the vibe at some legendary Detroit and Bloomington venues with the likes of DJ Assault, Yoshi Flower, TEKLIFE, Eddie Logix, Nick Speed, Jaye Prime, Sweater Disco, Lunamatic, DJ FLP, caleb stone, SPEAK, Lord Gulley, MONSUUN. and many more.

In 2019, Billy began to closely collaborate with up and coming Detroit emcees SAVAGESPITFLAMEZ, Sam Tate, Squad and L.O.E. BOOG - executive producing and creatively directing their projects. In a little over a year, he executive produced 8 full length projects, 2 EPS, and 4 singles. The collective decided to join forces and start Already Legends Entertainment. The crew describes their sound as, “Raw street vibes mixed with a lyrical splash.” They are a true refresher to not just the rap scene but the modern music landscape. Their recent album,"Smooth Water Jazz", combines the sounds and aesthetics from the world of smooth jazz with the contemporary rhythms and thumping 808s that form the bedrock of the modern Detroit / Flint sound.
